"I Am so Alone" - by Jürg Kienberger and Claudia Carigiet of Switzerland
Before he was a musician and an actor, he was a hotel child. Jürg Kienberger grew up in a grand old resort hotel in the Swiss Alps, in a hotel - it's still in the family - which had been founded by his great-grandparents and was run by his parents, constantly surrounded by guests and visitors and employees and extended family. And musicians, for the hotel always had live music. That is, above all, what's behind "All alone", his musical one-man show: memories of the sounds (and sighs) of the faithful hotel musicians who both awakened his love of music and deeply impressed him with the sad comedy and gentle absurdities of their life in an often thankless job.
JüRG KIENBERGER is a musician and actor born October 1st 1958 as the youngest child of a family of hoteliers in Sils-Maria Switzerland where he hears live music each day. The hotel orchestra plays in what is basically his home and fills his young curious ears with countless coffeehouse melodies. Today Mr. Kienberger works as a theatre musician in Zurich , Basel and Munich including a long standing collaboration with Christoph Marthaler. The combination of music and acting keeps Jurg's life full of variety. Recently Jürg has worked chiefly at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich with Christoph Marthaler in "Hotel Angst", "Was ihr wollt", "Groundings" and "Danton's Tod". His collaborations with Claudia Carigiet include "Ich bin ja so allein" and "Menschsein macht muede". Other projects include "Le nozze di Figaro" at the opera in Paris , "Schutz vor der Zukunft" at the Wiener Festwochen" and "Uncle Wanja" under Stefan Pucher direction which premiered Sep 23rd 2005 . He will appear later this winter in Oliver Mattihas Meyer's documentary about the famous clown "Grock". |
